Since the Oetztal offers more then 45 above 3.000 m mountains Gries and the Oetztal valley is predestinated for conducting a high alpine hiking track! Miriads of hiking tracks have its starting point right next to Ferienhaus Daheim in Gries. Furthermore another bunch of tracks is accessible within 20 Minutes by car or the hiking bus which is free of charge!

Piccard hike
Demanding and challenging hike which requires endurance and surefootedness. Across the Gurgler Ferner glacier to the landing place of Prof. Auguste Piccard's stratosphere balloon in 1931.
Hangerer, 3.020m
The Hangerer hike is a challanging day trip. When reaching the 3000m top of the mountain, enjoy a splendid view to the high alpine sourroundings.
